AFROSAI’s technical committees are called specialized bodies.
They are created, by virtue of article 24 of the Organization’s statutes, by the Governing Board to effectively implement the strategic priorities set forth in the Organization’s Strategic Plan. Each committee is entrusted with a specific priority and acts an operation mechanism tasked with shaping strategic priorities into tangible actions. The officers of these Commissions have the title “Priority Presidents”, underscoring their central role in leading and coordinating activities under their purview.
To fulfill their missions, Technical Committees may seek assistance from Working Groups or Task Forces formed to execute specific tasks pertaining to a given priority. These operation structures allow going in-depth on some issues, to develop technical tools, conduct specialized studied or to implement targeted projects. They report on their activities to Technical Committee to which they belong, hence ensuring coherence and efficient coordination of undertaken actions.
Priority Presidents are under the obligation to present, each year, a report to the Governing Board on the progress of each priority with which it is entrusted. This accountability process ensures follow-up, evaluation, adjustment of undertaken actions while bolstering the transparency and the overall performance of the Organization.
Their activities are subject to resolution N0004-2022/58CD of October 13, 2022, relating to the adoption of the general rules of procedures of AFROSAI’s technical committees.
