AFROSAI has rolled out its 2022-2027 Strategy to bolster supreme oversight. With a performance-driven blueprint, the Organization seeks to perpetuate State policies through regional and institutional support.
The AFROSAI 2022–2027 Strategic Plan is a significant milestone in supreme oversight of across Africa. As a regional organization of INTOSAI, AFROSAI is positioned to serve as a key enabler of sound governance and the long-term sustainability of public policies. This reference document goes beyond a conventional roadmap; it constitutes a transformative catalyst intended to prop up Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) to play a central role in advancing sustainable development outcomes.
The strategy hinges on three core priorities underpinned by a cross-cutting approach:
- Providing coordinated regional response to shared challenges.
- Improving member SAIs’ organizational performance.
- Setting the example of transparency and good governance.
To ensure greater efficacy for its ambitions, AFROSAI adopts a results-based management. This rigorous approach sets a precise causality chain: human and financial resources feed key actions that produce strategic outputs. These must lead to specific objectives to ultimately drive bigger impacts that bolster the credibility of financial oversight locally and regionally.
This plan empowers SAIs with necessary flexibility to adapt their interventions to their local context backed by a knowledge sharing platform.
