Strategic Plan 2022-2027
This Strategic Plan defines AFROSAI’s priorities for the six-year period from 2022 to 2027. It serves as the guiding strategy for all organizational activities, including SAI development programs, knowledge sharing, resource mobilization, and AFROSAI’s operational conduct as an international organization. This framework is rooted in a Results-Based Management (RBM) approach and is structured around three major strategic priorities, complemented by one essential cross-cutting priority.
- Strategic Priority 1: Providing a Regional Response to Common SAI Challenges
AFROSAI aims to tailor global mandates in public financial oversight to the African context. This priority focuses on strengthening SAI independence, promoting professionalization, evaluating the implementation of the 2030 and 2063 Agendas, combating illicit financial flows, and mainstreaming gender equality into audit practices.
- Strategic Priority 2: Enhancing the Organizational Performance of Member SAIs
The objective is to consolidate the values of transparency, accountability, and integrity within African SAIs. AFROSAI encourages the adoption of modern performance management tools, strengthens leadership and strategic change management capacities, and promotes best practices in internal governance.
- Strategic Priority 3: Serving as a Model of Good Governance
AFROSAI is committed to enhancing its own transparency and visibility as an umbrella organization. This involves maintaining a structure tailored to members' needs, optimizing resource mobilization, strengthening cooperation with regional and international partners, and developing robust visibility tools.
- Cross-cutting Priority: Facilitating Knowledge Sharing
This dimension underpins all priorities by fostering cooperation between sub-regional organizations, developing peer-to-peer support mechanisms, and fully leveraging the opportunities provided by INTOSAI and its structures.
