AFROSAI grounds its efforts in missions that target upholding African SAIs’ independence and bolstering their performance, driven by values of transparency, solidarity and innovation for the good of citizens.
AFROSAI fulfills its mandate in accordance with its statutes with a main objective to bolster African SAIs and foster sound financial governance. It acts as a continental spokesperson for SAIs, defending their institutional independence and their central role in improving public governance.
AFROSAI empowers its members through ongoing capacity building, expertise sharing and sustained performance improvement. It thus contributes to greater accountability and bolsters the credibility of States in managing public resources and fighting corruption. This support enables AFROSAI to boost citizens’ wellbeing and foster public trust across the continent.
As an INTOSAI regional organization, AFROSAI promotes close cooperation among regional groupings and actively works with sub-regional organizations to drive greater synergies and shave off duplicate efforts. It also develops partnerships with other African institutions engaged in transparency and financial governance.
The Organization’s actions are underpinned by fundamental values: transparency of processes, professional credibility, solidarity among members, innovation to tackle emerging challenges, integration of African diversity and respect for legal and sovereign equality of each member.
